Deborah Lynne Long-Overby

Jesus welcomed our beloved sister, Deborah “Debby” Lynne Long-Overby of Hanford CA, into the Kingdom of Heaven on March 18th 2025 after a long illness where she will no longer suffer.

The eldest sibling, Debby was born on Christmas Day 1951 at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in MD. Her Navy family also lived in Frayser, TN and settled in Lemoore, CA. Here she graduated from Lemoore High in 1970 as the Sr. Class Treasurer and a majorette, among other activities. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church of Lemoore, her family's church. Favorite memories include enjoying family gatherings, fun lunches at Black Bear Diner, viewing local Christmas light displays, camping outings, and trips to the pet store which began her lifelong love of caring for stray dogs and nurturing them back to health.

Debby dedicated over 40 years to her profession as an Optician, providing a positive experience for patients with her kindness, friendliness and genuine desire to help others. She retired from the Lemoore Naval Air Station Optical department in 2024.

Reunited with those in Christ who have gone before her, she is preceded in death by her mother Viola Mae Roberts and brother Gary Martin Long.

Survived by her loving siblings, Danny, Kevin, and Bobbi Carol Long; aunt Carol Herbert; nieces, nephews, cousins, and loyal pet dogs Skippy and Cookie.

Debby’s Celebration of Life will be held graveside at the Lemoore Cemetery 1441 N Lemoore Ave, 93245, on Friday May 16 at 10:00am, all are welcome.
